Michigan lawmakers approved $30.3 million in the state budget for a new medical district project in Saginaw, local news outlet ABC12News reported June 29.
State officials are keeping specific plans for the district under wraps, but it will include a partnership with the College of Medicine at Central Michigan University. City and county officials both approved $5 million in American Rescue Plan Act funds for the project.
Ground breaking is scheduled for later this year upon receiving further approvals.
