The Miriam Hospital in Providence R.I., part of Brown University Health, has received certificate-of-need approval for a $125 million renovation.
Here are three updates:
1. Work on the three-phase project is expected to begin in the spring, according to a Dec. 23 health system news release shared with Becker's.
2. The hospital's oldest building will be demolished to make way for a new emergency department and private patient rooms.
3. While the hospital's bed capacity will remain the same, the renovations will increase the number of private patient rooms.
Providence-based Brown University Health recently rebranded from Lifespan.
