Hospitals across the country are expanding to meet higher community needs.
Here are five hospitals and health systems launching expansion projects Becker's has reported on since April 20:
- Lexington-based University of Kentucky HealthCare announced a $2.4 billion expansion.
- The University of Cincinnati Medical Center received $10 million in new tax credits for an expansion of its emergency room.
- Hartford-based Connecticut Children's broke ground on the construction of a new eight-story medical tower.
- Southport, N.C.-based Dosher Memorial Hospital launched its seven-year expansion project.
- Summerville (S.C.) Medical Center launched a $67 million expansion project that will add 56 beds to the hospital.
