Cigna has expanded its collaborative care programs to 75,000 more Floridians through five new agreements that launched Jan. 1, bringing its total number of collaborative care arrangements in Florida to 13.
"Cigna Collaborative Care" is the health insurer's version of an accountable care organization and aims to improve healthcare access, care coordination, affordability, patient experience and patient health overall.
Cigna's newest partnerships launched with the following medical groups:
- Advantage Health Network (Fort Lauderdale, Fla.)
- Palm Beach (Fla.) Accountable Care Organization
- Florida Hospital Medical Group (Orlando)
- Florida Accountable Care Services (Winter Park, Fla.)
- Tampa (Fla.) Bay Integrated Healthcare Network
"We're delighted to welcome these five medical groups to Cigna Collaborative Care," Dean Mirabella, Cigna's president for Florida markets, said in a statement. "Each one is committed to putting the patient at the center of its practice, with expanded access to care, better coordination of care, a focus on prevention, and patient education about chronic conditions and wellness. We look forward to having them join us on our journey toward a better system for the people who use, pay for or deliver healthcare."
