Baptist Memorial Health Care in Memphis, Tenn., and Aetna have partnered in a collaborative care agreement to offer Aetna Whole Health, a commercial healthcare product.
Aetna will work with Baptist Select Health Alliance, a clinically integrated group of physicians created through a partnership between Baptist Memorial Health Care and physicians.
Select Health physicians will use information technology to coordinate care and engage Aetna members to maintain their health. "We will be putting current data in the hands of physicians, allowing them to improve care and create a better overall value for their patients," David Elliott, Baptist Memorial's vice president of managed care, said in the news release.
Under the collaborative care agreement, Aetna will reward Baptist Select Health Alliance physicians for meeting certain quality, patient satisfaction and efficiency metrics, such as:
• Percentage of members who get recommended preventive care and screenings
• Improved management of chronic conditions, such as diabetes and heart failure
• Reduced avoidable readmissions
• Reduced emergency room visits
The Aetna Whole Health plans will be offered starting July 1.
