Cleveland Clinic. Since 2007, Cleveland Clinic has referred to the LEED Green Building Rating System for all new major construction projects. Today, 13 Cleveland Clinic projects have been certified, and all new major construction projects are required to follow LEED standards. Cleveland Clinic works to incorporate environmental stewardship into the hospital's operations, purchasing practices and community involvement as well. The hospital is an active member of Sustainable Cleveland 2019, an effort to build a collective vision for the city's sustainable future. In 2015, Practice Greenhealth named Cleveland Clinic a Top 25 Environmental Excellence Award honoree and gave the organization four Circle of Excellence awards for reducing chemicals, greening the OR, tracking its greenhouse gas emissions and incorporating green principles into its buildings.
