Providence Hood River (Ore.) Memorial Hospital. Providence Hood River, a 25-bed critical access hospital, is located about 60 miles east of Portland, Ore., in the Columbia River Gorge. The hospital received a 2016 Healthgrades Outstanding Patient Experience Award and was named among the nation's Top 100 Critical Access Hospitals by iVantage Health Analytics. In addition to the national recognition for both clinical care and patient experience, PHRMH is one of just nine critical access hospitals with teaching programs in the nation, according the American Hospital Directory.
