Timothy Babineau, MD. President and CEO of Lifespan (Providence, R.I.). Prior to serving as president and CEO of Lifespan, Dr. Babineau was president and CEO of Rhode Island Hospital and The Miriam Hospital, both based in Providence. He previously acted as senior vice president and CMO of the University of Maryland Medical Center and School of Medicine in Baltimore. Dr. Babineau is a board-certified general surgeon who's held professorships in surgery at Baltimore-based University of Maryland, Boston University School of Medicine and Boston-based Harvard Medical School. He received the America's Top Surgeons Award from Consumer Reports and the Consumers Research Council. Dr. Babineau also edits the Journal of Surgical Innovation and Research.
