John B. Chessare, MD. President and CEO of Greater Baltimore Medical Center. Dr. Chessare stepped into the role of president and CEO of Greater Baltimore Medical Center in June 2010, overseeing more than 40 multispecialty physician practices, a 270-bed hospital, a hospice organization and the GBMC Foundation. He previously served as president and CEO of Caritas Norwood (Mass.) Hospital and senior vice president for quality and patient safety of the Boston-based Caritas Christi Health Care System, which was acquired by Boston-based Steward Health Care System in 2010. He has more than 30 years of healthcare leadership experience, holding leadership roles at Boston Medical Center/Boston University School of Medicine, Albany Medical Center/Albany Medical College in New York and the Medical College of Ohio in Toledo. Dr. Chessare is a board-certified pediatrician and fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives.
