UPMC Presbyterian Shadyside | 100 Hospitals with Great Heart Programs 2017

UPMC Presbyterian Shadyside (Pittsburgh). Surgeons at UPMC Presbyterian Shadyside performed the first-ever minimally invasive coronary bypass in the tri-state region. Since then, the hospital has expanded minimally invasive approaches to include valve surgery and the use of robotics. UPMC Shadyside surgeons have performed more than 1,400 heart transplants, and the hospital is home to UPMC Center for Thoracic Aortic Disease, which connects patients with cardiologists, geneticists, surgeons and radiologists all in one location. U.S. News & World Report ranked the 520-bed hospital among the top 50 hospitals in the nation for cardiology and heart surgery in 2017-18.
