Ochsner Medical Center-Baton Rouge (La.). Ochsner Medical Center's John Ochsner Heart and Vascular Institute is home to more than 50 cardiologists. Surgeons at Ochsner Medical Center have completed more than 900 heart transplants and 450 nonsurgical aortic valve replacement procedures. John Ochsner Heart and Vascular Institute is considered one of the largest comprehensive centers for managing arrhythmias in the Gulf South, logging more than 2,000 procedures annually. Oschner Medical Center is the only heart transplant center in Louisiana performing over 20 heart transplants per year. In addition to providing clinical excellence, the hospital's cardiac specialists are participating in 85 cardiovascular clinical research trials. In 2017, CareChex ranked Ochsner Medical Center-Baton Rouge No. 3 in Louisiana for cardiac surgery.
