NewYork-Presbyterian University Hospital (New York City). Cardiac patients at NewYork-Presbyterian University Hospital are treated at one of its three dedicated heart centers: the Ronald O. Perelman Heart Institute, Vivian and Seymour Milstein Family Heart Center or the William Acquavella Heart Valve Center. The hospital established its heart transplant program in 1971, making it among the oldest ongoing programs in the nation. Surgeons involved with the transplant program have performed nearly 2,500 heart transplants — more than any other U.S. hospital. In 2017, U.S. News & World Report ranked NewYork-Presbyterian University Hospital No. 3 in the nation for cardiac care.
