Since opening in 2008, Memorial Hermann Heart and Vascular Institute in the Texas Medical Center has grown to encompass expertise in heart attack and heart failure treatments as well as complex surgeries. Last year alone, Memorial Hermann heart and vascular physicians performed more than 50,000 procedures. Physicians affiliated with the Memorial Hermann Heart and Vascular Institute were the first in the world to perform robotic-assisted aortic reconstructive surgery, which revealed for the first time that heart disease could be reversed. U.S. News and World Report ranked the medical center No. 29 in cardiology and heart surgery in 2017-18.
