The Medical Center at Bowling Green (Ky.).The Heart Institute at The Medical Center at Bowling Green houses the area's only 24-hour emergency intervention for open heart surgery, balloon angioplasty and cardiac stenting. Fifteen cardiologists and four cardiovascular surgeons provide care at the hospital. The Medical Center at Bowling Green also provides a Society of Cardiovascular Patient Care-accredited Chest Pain Center and received Blue Cross Blue Shield Association's Blue Distinction Center+ for cardiac care designation. CareChex ranked the Heart Institute No. 1 in Kentucky for medical excellence in major cardiac surgery for 2017.
