Lawnwood Regional Medical Center & Heart Institute (Fort Pierce, Fla.). The Lawnwood Heart Institute includes cardiovascular step-down and cardiac catheterization recovery units, as well as a cardiovascular intensive care unit. The institute offers open heart surgery services including coronary artery bypass grafting and valvular repair and replacement. The hospital was ranked No. 33 by CareChex for cardiac care in 2015. U.S. News & World Report also recognized the hospital as high-performing for heart failure and heart bypass surgery in its common care ratings.
