Lafayette (La.) General Medical Center.With an adult intensive care unit and Level III neonatal intensive care unit, Lafayette General Medical Center provides the only centralized intensive care services in the city. The hospital also offers a specially trained NICU transport team comprising 11 nurses and four respiratory therapists who transport sick or premature newborns requiring more complex care to Lafayette General from other hospitals. The hospital was recognized as one of America's best breast centers by Women's Choice Award and designated a Blue Distinction Center+ for Maternity Care by Blue Cross Blue Shield Association.
