Gunnison (Utah) Valley Hospital. Gunnison Valley Hospital has been dedicated to promoting women's health services since the first facility opened in the 1940s, complete with an operating room, laboratory, X-ray room and delivery suite. At the time, a hospital stay cost $3 a day and a delivery procedure cost $25. Today, the 25-bed community hospital contains three delivery suites, two operating suites, a full-service laboratory and imaging services to serve hundreds of expectant mothers each year. Their labor and delivery department features private birthing suites designed to handle labor, delivery and recovery in a safe and supportive environment, as well as private postpartum rooms where mother and baby can receive care together throughout the hospital stay. The Women's Choice Award recognized Gunnison Valley Hospital as one of America's best hospitals for obstetrics in 2017.
