Froedtert Hospital and the Medical College of Wisconsin is a 585-bed academic medical center, one of just two in the state of Wisconsin. The hospital is dedicated to research, conducting approximately 2,000 clinical trials and research studies annually. While it does split its focus with research, Froedtert Hospital and the Medical College of Wisconsin also offer some of the nation's best women's healthcare. It has earned recognition as a top 50 hospital for gynecology from U.S. News & World Report, a Best Breast Center and a Best Hospital for Obstetrics from Women's Choice Award. The hospital's approach to care is highly specialized and tailored to women. It is home to one of the nation's few women's sports medicine programs, and its Women's Heart Disease Program is staffed by 12 female board-certified cardiologists.
