Cedars-Sinai Medical Center (Los Angeles). Cedars-Sinai Medical Center is a nonprofit academic medical center with more than 40 locations and more than 4,500 physicians and nurses. The health system delivers 6,700 babies a year, the most of any hospital in Los Angeles and the third most of any hospital in California. Cedars-Sinai is known for its maternal-fetal medicine, led by maternal-fetal health expert John Williams III, MD, who created one of the most comprehensive first-trimester prenatal diagnosis programs in the nation. Its NICU treats 900 babies annually. In addition to maternal-fetal medicine, Cedars-Sinai offers family planning and fertility-related programs, as well as a robust program for breast and gynecologic cancers. Cedars-Sinai was ranked No. 28 in the nation for gynecology by U.S. News & World Report in 2017.
