Thomas Jefferson University Hospital is closely affiliated with Sidney Kimmel Cancer Center, a National Cancer Institute-designated cancer center that opened in 1993. There are more than 120 clinical trials for promising new cancer treatments conducted at Sidney Kimmel Cancer Center at Jefferson at any given time, and surgeons perform more than 600 procedures there annually.
