Travel nurses more willing to explore permanent employment, small survey finds

As travel nurses seek flexibility and work-life balance, they are more open to permanent employment in 2023 than in previous years, according to a report from Vivian Health, a national healthcare hiring marketplace.

Eighty-six percent of travel clinicians surveyed by Vivian said they are open to permanent work if offered a competitive wage, with 46 percent planning to work permanently this year. This compares to 55 percent who were considering the switch to permanent positions in 2022.

The report is based on a survey of 1,663 clinical and clinical-support workers in the U.S. Sixty-five percent of respondents were registered nurses; 36 percent were employed in travel positions; and 44 percent were employed in permanent positions.
