Hundreds of healthcare jobs are available in Montgomery County in Pennsylvania, according to The Philadelphia Inquirer.
Overall, there are 2,747 open job postings online for the county, 660 of which are in the healthcare and social assistance sector, the newspaper states, citing a report from David Zellers, Montgomery County’s director of commerce. The healthcare and social assistance sector includes nurses, lab technicians and other medical professionals.
Mr. Zellers attributed the demand to the county's aging workforce as well as the number of families there.
"With retirements, the demand for healthcare is evolving and changing," Mr. Zellers said, according to the Inquirer. "There are lots of families [in the county], and you have to deliver healthcare where you have that population growth."
Healthcare organizations with job openings include Holy Redeemer Health System, based in Meadowbrook, Pa., as well as Philadelphia-based Einstein Healthcare Network.
