The healthcare industry is experiencing overall job growth, but nursing roles are still tougher to fill, according to recent data from iCIMS.
The talent cloud company drew insights from its database of 4,000 clients, including 40 percent of the Fortune100. About 139 of those clients are in the healthcare industry, according to B2B dataset 6sense.
Ten figures to note from iCIMS' April Workforce Report:
1. Healthcare job applications have increased 31 percent since January 2022.
2. Job openings in the sector have grown 16 percent in the same time frame.
3. Healthcare hires are up 11 percent from January 2022.
4. The average number of applicants to a healthcare job is 15.8
5. The average number of applicants to a nursing role is 8.7, nearly half the industry mean.
6. It takes about 41 days to fill a health services role, down from 48 in January 2022.
7. It takes about 42 days to fill a nursing role.
8. When looking for a healthcare job, 57 percent of candidates use Indeed.
9. Fewer — 26 percent — use LinkedIn.
10. Job openings in the healthcare industry grew 18 percent from February to March — ahead of growth in the technology sector, but behind manufacturing, retail and finance.
