Poll: 81% of medical practices do a formal employee performance evaluation for all positions

Formal employee performance evaluations are common among medical groups, according to Medical Group Management Association's most recent MGMA Stat poll.

The April 24 poll asked approximately 1,600 medical practice leaders if their organization does a formal employee performance evaluation. Eighty-one percent of respondents said their organization does a formal employee performance evaluation for all positions. Among this 81 percent majority, 95 percent said evaluations are done annually, according to the poll.

Eleven percent of respondents said their organization does a formal employee performance evaluation for some positions, while 8 percent said their organization does not do a formal employee performance evaluation.
