Mount Sinai launches program to hire veterans

New York City-based Mount Sinai Health System partnered with the nonprofit Workforce Opportunity Services to recruit, train and hire more veterans.

Mount Sinai has already hired three veterans to its IT department through the program.

"The WOS program helped me by providing practiced skills of business acumen and networking and has helped me to translate my military skills to the business world. There are many veterans who fall through the cracks of civilian life or aren't prepared for their return. I am so grateful for WOS and Mount Sinai for believing in me and my success," Jonathan Duchnowski, a veteran of the U.S. Navy, said in a press release.

The program, WOS On Demand, uses an evidence-backed model to recruit, train and place veteran candidates at more than 65 companies around the world.
