Healthcare added 24,000 jobs in August, with hospitals accounting for 9,000 of these positions, according to the latest jobs report from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics.
The August tally marks a decrease from the 30,400 jobs added in July. Ambulatory healthcare services demonstrated the most growth last month, adding 12,000 jobs. Nursing and residential care facilities added 3,000 jobs.
Overall, healthcare has added 392,000 jobs in the past year.
