Healthcare added 20,800 jobs in February, with hospitals contributing 4,200 to that total, according to the latest jobs report from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics.
In January, healthcare added 41,600 jobs. Overall, healthcare employment has increased by 361,000 jobs in the last year, according to the bureau.
Within healthcare, ambulatory healthcare services showed the most employment growth last month, adding 15,500 jobs. Hospitals added 4,200 jobs in February, while nursing and residential care facilities added 1,100 jobs.
