As Google's healthcare division has expanded, so has its workforce, which has grown to 500 people, CNBC reports.
Five things to know:
1. Most of the Google Health employees were reassigned from other Google groups, although company hiring efforts continue, according to CNBC.
2. Some of Google Health's employees are from the U.K. startup DeepMind, which Google Health acquired.
3. Workers are primarily based out of out of Palo Alto, Calif., in the former offices of smart home group Nest.
4. The employees work under Google Health chief David Feinberg, MD, former CEO of Danville, Pa.-based Geisinger Health System.
5. Dr. Feinberg reports to Google AI chief Jeff Dean. Karen DeSalvo, former health commissioner of New Orleans, serves as Google's chief health officer.
