12% of healthcare practices lack a sexual harassment policy

A new Medical Group Management Association Stat poll shows some healthcare practices still lack a sexual harassment policy.

The Dec. 12 poll asked approximately 1,200 respondents if their organization has such a policy. Eighty-four percent of respondents said yes, while 12 percent said no. Four percent were unsure.

MGMA said respondents were then asked how their organization provides harassment training to employees, and most reported sexual harassment training is done as part of new employee orientation and repeated annually. The poll indicated these trainings often occur through online learning modules, although some respondents said their organization's sexual harassment policy is only in the employee handbook.
