10 best cities to find STEM jobs

Seattle is the best city to find science, technology, engineering and math jobs, according to an analysis by personal finance website WalletHub.

To determine the best cities for STEM jobs, Wallethub's analysts compared the nation's 100 most populated metropolitan areas across three dimensions — professional opportunities, STEM-friendliness and quality of life — using 20 metrics. Each metric was graded on a 100-point scale, with a score of 100 representing the most favorable conditions for STEM professionals. Analysts then used each metropolitan area's weighted average across all metrics to calculate the city's overall score.

Here are the 10 best cities for STEM jobs, which include medical scientists, according to WalletHub.

1. Seattle

2. Boston

3. Pittsburgh

4. Austin, Texas

5. San Francisco

6. Madison, Wis.

7. Atlanta

8. Salt Lake City

9. Minneapolis

10. Cincinnati
