A union representing 22,000 support and medical services employees at University of California hospitals is planning a strike vote for Oct. 28 to Oct. 30.
The union, AFSCME Local 3299, says it is trying to change hospital policies that waste public money and are not ideal for public health, according to a report by The Fresno Bee.
The UC system, on the other hand, says the union is really trying to put off changes to pensions that other unions have already accepted, according to the report.
