Survey shows healthcare workers confident in economy, employment: 4 findings

More than half— 66 percent — of healthcare workers are confident they would be able to find a new job, according to the most recent Randstad Healthcare Employee Confidence Index.

"The fact that healthcare workers indicated the highest confidence levels we've ever recorded is a sign the job market for these professionals is providing more opportunities, and the sector is experiencing the rapid growth many economists expected," Abigail Tremble, president of Randstad Healthcare, said in a news release. "We entered 2015 with historically lower-than-average unemployment rates for many healthcare occupations, so it's no surprise we have already seen increased hiring activity for many key positions."

Here are four other findings from the employee confidence index.

1. Twenty-nine percent of healthcare workers believe the economy is improving, and 36 percent believe more jobs are available.

2. Even though 66 percent of healthcare workers are confident they would be able to find a new job, the report found only 32 percent are likely to look for a new job in the next 12 months.

3. Sixty-four percent of healthcare workers are confident in the future of their current employer, with only 10 percent indicating the opposite.

4. Seventy-six percent of healthcare workers believe it is unlikely they will lose their job in the next 12 months.

Data is based on an online study among 243 healthcare employees, including physicians, nurses, administrators and other professionals.
