Sierra Vista (Ariz.) Regional Health Center has eliminated 94 positions, or about 13.3 percent of its workforce, according to a report by The Sierra Vista Herald.
The workforce cuts have led to 59 layoffs; 35 of the positions were empty, according to the report.
According to an Arizona Daily Star report, the federal sequester, coupled with Medicare and Medicaid "turmoil," are to blame for the cuts.
