Salinas Valley Memorial Hospital, nurses union reach tentative deal

A proposed nurse strike at Salinas (Calif.) Valley Memorial Hospital has been called off because the hospital and the California Nurses Association have reached a tentative agreement, according to a KSBW report.

The nurses were set to strike May 27, but now that date will be when the nurses will vote on the possible contract agreement.

The two groups are keeping quiet about the details of the agreement, according to the report. "Out of respect for the ratification process, we are remaining quiet about the agreement to allow the union to present it to its membership," said SVMH CEO Pete Delgado in a memo to staff, KSBW reported.
