Pottstown (Pa.) Memorial Medical Center and a union representing 275 workers at PMMC reached an agreement in time to avert a potential strike, according to a Reading Eagle report.
The workers, who are represented by SEIU Healthcare Pennsylvania and include licensed practical nurses, nursing aides and tech positions, ratified a new three-year contract Oct. 6.
The contract includes a 1.75 percent wage increase in the first year, followed by 2 percent raises in each of the next two years, according to the report. It also caps increases in health insurance premiums.
The union's previous contract expired Aug. 31.
