More than 1,000 PeaceHealth workers at Sacred Heart Medical Center at Riverbend in Springfield, Ore., and Sacred Heart Medical Center, University District in Eugene, Ore., ratified their first union contract Monday, according to The Register-Guard.
Here are four things to know about the contract.
1. The workers voted 533-11 in favor of ratification.
2. The contract covers cooks, housekeepers, certified nursing assistants and other workers, all represented by Service Employees International Union Local 49.
3. Workers covered by the contract will receive an average 21 percent pay increase over the three-year contract, the union said, according to the report.
4. Vancouver, Wash.-based PeaceHealth said most of the economic changes in the contract, such as wage raises and incentive pay, will become effective July 1, The Register-Guard reports.
