In a stand against what they claim to be unfair labor practices, among other issues, nurses on Monday began to strike at Washington, D.C.-based MedStar Washington Hospital, according to CBS Washington.
Nurses claim hospital executives committed unfair labor practices and won't in a fair way address health, safety and equity issues for patients and nurses, according to the report. MedStar Washington Hospital in the report called the strike "unfortunate" and said negotiations with National Nurses United have been in the works since September.
The hospital is open and operating as usual today, and replacement nurses are on hand.
