Registered nurses at Nathan Littauer Hospital and Nursing Home in Gloversville, N.Y., have notified hospital officials of their intent to strike if contract negotiations do not progress, according to a Times Union report.
Here are three things to know about the possible strike.
1. The strike, if held, would take place Jan. 6.
2. The 137 RNs potentially striking are represented by the New York State Nurses Association and have been without a contract for nearly two years, according to the report. Adequate staffing and protection of benefits are among the key issues in the dispute, according to NYSNA.
3. Hospital officials did not immediately respond to a request for comment by the Times Union.
