The Houston Methodist Hospital System will relocate 250 administrative employees from the Texas Medical Center in Houston to Katy, Texas, officials announced, according to a Community Impact Newspaper report.
Here are four things to know about the move.
1. The 250 affected employees work in the administrative office, central business office and billing and collections department, according to Peyton Elliott, vice president and COO of the Houston Methodist West Hospital.
2. The employees will be located at the Houston Methodist St. Catherine location in Katy.
3. Mr. Elliott told Community Impact Newspaper relocating the employees will be positive for the local economy and beneficial to employees who may live in the Katy area. "I think it's a good thing," he told the publication. "The feedback from employees was favorable. This is probably an easier location to recruit to. It's certainly got to be good for restaurants."
4. The relocation is set to take place later this year.
