All 432 Aramark Healthcare support services employees at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center will be let go when a contract between the hospital and the Philadelphia-based company expires this fall, according to a Cincinnati Business Courier report.
Here are three things to know about the workforce reductions and contract.
1. Cincinnati Children's is choosing not to renew its current contract with Aramark, which expires Sept. 30.
2. A contract with a new vendor has not been finalized. However, the 432 affected employees, who are in cleaning services and related jobs, will be able to reapply when Cincinnati Children's chooses a new vendor, according to the report.
3. Terry Loftus, spokesman for Cincinnati Children's, told the Cincinnati Business Courier that the hospital hopes a vast majority of these individuals will be rehired.
