Newburyport, Mass.-based Anna Jaques Hospital has laid off nine employees, according to a Boston Business Journal report.
The layoffs represent the loss of roughly six full-time equivalent positions, according to the report. Affected employees were in clinical support positions, like pulmonary and sleep technicians.
Anna Jaques has experienced lower patient volumes and took a reimbursement hit from the federal sequester this year, contributing to the necessity of the cuts, the Boston Business Journal reported.
