1. Florida Hospital's new ER will add 100 jobs: 3 things to know
Orlando-based Florida Hospital's proposed new freestanding emergency facility is expected to create 100 new jobs, according to an Orlando Business Journal report. The facility, to be built in Orlando, will be 18,500 square feet and include 24 beds.
2. West Va. University Medicine seeks 1k new healthcare workers ahead of facility expansion
Morgantown-based West Virginia University Medicine is looking for new hires to support its expanding facilities, according to Metro News. The opening of a new 10-story, 114-bed hospital tower in January 2017 will create at least 750 jobs.
3. Barlow Respiratory Hospital hiring nurses
Barlow Respiratory Hospital in Los Angeles seeks to hire 15 nurses in May. The hospital will hold a career fair May 16 for those interested in the open positions, which include registered nurses and nursing assistants.
4. 330 new jobs expected with new Bostick Nursing Center at Central State Hospital The new Bostick Nursing Center at Central State Hospital in Milledgeville, Ga., is expected to offer 330 new jobs, according to a Union-Recorder report. That's based on comments April 20 from Mike Couch, executive director of the Central State Hospital Local Redevelopment Authority. Many of the new jobs will be filled by certified nursing assistants.
5. Cox Health hiring nursing assistants, RNs
Springfield, Mo.-based CoxHealth held a job fair April 15, where the system was seeking to hire about 100 people, according to a KY3 report. At the job fair, 84 people got job offers in just a few hours. CoxHealth told KY3 April 15 they still had about 40 positions left for nurse assistants, and they are always in need of registered nurses.
