Out of the top five jobs the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics predicts will have the most growth potential through 2022, three of the jobs are in the healthcare field, according to an NBC News report.
Listed below are the three healthcare jobs with the greatest growth potential:
1. Personal care aides (BLS forecasts more than 580,800 jobs will be added, or 48.8 percent employment growth between 2012 and 2022)
2. Registered nurses (526,800 jobs or 19.4 percent growth)
3. Home health aides (424,200 jobs or 48.5 percent growth)
Retail salesperson and food preparation and service workers are the two non-healthcare-related jobs that also made the top five.
According to the most recent Employment Situation report from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, employment in healthcare rose by a total of 24,000 in February, including more than 20,000 jobs in ambulatory care services and 9,000 jobs in hospitals.
