Weeks Medical Center in Lancaster, N.H., is joining forces with Lebanon, N.H.-based Dartmouth-Hitchcock Center for Connected Care to add telemedicine services in neurology and psychiatry.
The new teleneurology and telepsychiatry services will allow local patients to receive 24/7 assessment and treatment by neurologists or psychiatrists. Weeks Medical Center hopes the addition of the telemedicine services will help reduce transfers.
Weeks is already offering telemedicine services via Dartmouth-Hitchcock in dermatology, rheumatology, chronic kidney disease and stroke care.
Dartmouth-Hitchcock Center for Connected Care was founded and established in 2012. As New Hampshire's only academic medical center and only level 1 trauma center, Dartmouth-Hitchcock has spearheaded telemedicine services in the state.
