The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs collaborated with Walmart to provide telehealth services.
The VA-led telehealth services aim to improve access to care for underserved veterans. The VA experienced 900,000 telehealth visits in 2017. Walmart, which has offered pharmacy services for 40 years, is working to expand its health and wellness footprint.
"The opportunity to work with VA to expand its ability to serve Veterans through technology is an important way that Walmart can continue to show its commitment to Veterans and deliver on our promise of providing Americans with more affordable healthcare," said Marcus Osborne, vice president of health and wellness transformation at Walmart.
The telehealth services will initially be piloted at targeted Walmart locations, and the partners will announce final locations at a later date.
