Providence's telehealth impact: 3M visits since 2020

Renton, Wash.-based Providence has conducted more than 3 million telehealth visits since March 2020 and is working to expand that service, according to its telehealth annual report.

Providence's telehealth enterprise team operates eight services that provide critical clinical coverage to eight states, with services ranging from COVID-19 homecare to behavioral health services. 

Here are seven numbers showing Providence's telehealth impact, according to the report:

  • 26,000 | The number of at-home COVID-19 patients Providence treated through virtual check-in.

  • 7,100 | The number of hospital patients served through the TeleHospitalist program.
     
  • 19,000 | The number of bedside consultations conducted virtually.

  • 10,000 | The number of requests for consultation from the TeleStroke program across the health system.

  • 16 | The number of new hospitals that joined the TeleStroke network in 2021.
     
  • 1.43 million | The number of video visits conducted in 2021.

  • 15,000 | The number of ambulatory clinicians in Providence medical groups, hospital outpatient departments and home and community care who are using telehealth as a normalized part of their practice.
