Novant Health taps Tyto Care to enhance virtual care delivery

Novant Health has partnered with Tyto Care, a New York City-based developer of digital tools for at-home examination and diagnosis, to expand the Winston-Salem, N.C.-based system's virtual care offerings.

Patients who schedule virtual visits with Novant will now be able to augment their remote care experience with the TytoHome device. In tandem with Tyto Care's telehealth platform, the handheld device uses video, augmented reality, sensors and machine learning to help clinicians virtually examine a patient's heart, lungs, skin, ears, throat and abdomen, and measure body temperature and heart rate.

"Novant Health is committed to creating a digital health experience that connects a person's entire health journey and delivers a personalized experience through a comprehensive virtual venue of care," said Hank Capps, MD, Novant's senior vice president and chief digital health and engagement officer. "By integrating Tyto Care's end-to-end telehealth offering into our digital healthcare delivery platform, we're expanding our remarkable patient experience with game-changing technology."
