Allegheny Health Network and Highmark Health, both based in Pittsburgh, have launched a new teleICU program spanning across six hospitals.
The program establishes a virtual connection between a centralized team comprising AHN board-certified critical care physicians, nurses and data assistants, and the bedside hospitalists and nurses stationed in the intensive care units of AHN's Natrona Heights, Pa.-based Allegheny Valley Hospital, Canonsburg (Pa.) Hospital, Grove City (Pa.) Hospital, Jefferson Hills, Pa.-based Jefferson Hospital, and Wexford (Pa.) Hospital, according to a Nov. 9 news release from Allegheny.
With the teleICU program, staff can ensure round-the-clock monitoring and management of critically ill patients.
