6 telehealth vendors waive service fees in wake of Hurricane Irma

A range of telehealth vendors built on charitable efforts from Hurricane Harvey by extending free remote services to Florida residents as they prepared for Hurricane Irma to make landfall.

Here's how six vendors intervened in the wake of the tropical storm.

1. American Well offered online medical and psychological counselling services at no charge for all people whose state declared a state of emergency following Hurricane Irma.

2. Doctor On Demand covered the cost of video visits for those in regions affected by Hurricane Irma in Florida at no cost through Sept. 15.

3. EpicMD partnered with local charities to provide free virtual medical consultations to Florida residents affected by Hurricane Irma.

4. LiveHealth Online extended free online medical and psychology sessions to residents in Texas, Louisiana and Florida affected by recent hurricanes through Dec. 31.

5. MDLive offered Florida residents impacted by Hurricane Irma access to one remote medical or behavioral health session at no cost.

6. Teladoc provided free general medical care services to residents who were displaced or otherwise affected by Hurricane Irma, including those who are not Teladoc members.
