The Food and Drug Administration approved Granules India's orange-colored ibuprofen tablets, reported MoneyControl.
The anti-inflammatory drug is a generic version of Johnson and Johnson's Motrin IB tablets, which are also orange.
C Krishna Prasad, chairman and managing director of Granules, said the company saw a large demand for the orange ibuprofen tablets from its customers — like Wal-Mart — who prefer to market the drug as their own generic competition to brand name drugs.
